No Ending

Tell me a story, Pew.

What kind of story, child?
A story with a happy ending.
There's no such thing in all the world.
As a happy ending?
As an ending.(49)

i love the idea of no ending (and no beginning), as is also true about happy and sad: point of view and frame of mind.

and always around this time i find i'm worrying about the premature and rapidly approaching end of the semester, even while i reassure myself with the reminder that learning never ends and my students will continue learning from and despite me long after they fall off my roll.

another beginning: my blog, "pulling weeds" (weedpulling.blogspot.com) will, i hope, take some shape this weekend, as soon as i figure out what it is...and why.

thanks for the inspiration, c.

Hey Chris, I found you through Bruce! I reviewed this book, and though there were things I liked about it and I like her a lot (I loved "oranges are not the only fruit"), I wasn't sold on this one. If you're interested, here were my thoughts, such as they are, in the SFCBR: http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/04/17/RVG5SC4HSN1.DTL
